The ClickTime + Rippling integration enables seamless employee provisioning and single sign-on (SSO), helping your team automatically manage ClickTime user access as part of your HR workflows. When employees are onboarded, updated, or offboarded in Rippling, their ClickTime access is automatically adjusted. Plus, employees can log into ClickTime directly from their Rippling dashboard with SAML-based SSO.
IMPORTANT: The Rippling integration supports user provisioning/deactivation and SAML single sign-on (SSO). It does not sync timesheets or time data.
This integration is self-service and configured directly from the Rippling App Shop. There is some SSO configuration that happens inside ClickTime, but the process all starts from within Rippling.
Note: Depending on your Rippling plan, Rippling may charge additional fees for app integrations or SSO access. Please consult your Rippling representative for details.

What Syncs
User Provisioning & Deactivation
The integration uses Rippling’s provisioning API to automatically manage ClickTime user accounts.
- Direction of Data Flow: Rippling ⟶ ClickTime
- Objects: Employee records (e.g., name, email, start date, status)
- Sync Event: New hire, update, or termination in Rippling
- Sync Frequency: Continuous (event-driven API)
Employee Data Synced
- Name
- Email address
- Start date
- Employment status (active/inactive)
When an employee is terminated or offboarded in Rippling, their ClickTime account is automatically deactivated — ensuring only current employees retain access.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Rippling acts as an Identity Provider (IdP) for ClickTime, allowing users to sign in securely using their Rippling credentials.
- SSO Type: SAML 2.0
- Direction of Authentication: Rippling → ClickTime
- Access: Users can launch ClickTime directly from their Rippling dashboard.
For detailed SSO configuration options (including metadata setup and IdP exchange), please refer to ClickTime’s SSO setup guide.
Known Limitations
- User provisioning and SSO only: No sync for time, timesheets, or leave data.
- One-way sync: Employee updates flow from Rippling to ClickTime (not the reverse).
- Limited field set: Only basic HR fields are synced.
- SSO setup: Requires admin access in both Rippling and ClickTime.
- Potential Rippling fees: Depending on your Rippling plan, additional charges may apply for integrations or SSO access.
