ClickTime's Slack Integration makes it easy to save time to your ClickTime account within Slack, without having to use your phone or log into our application. This guide will show you how to install/authenticate your ClickTime account with Slack.
NOTE: this article assumes that you have been given the appropriate workspace permissions in Slack (for example to install apps). For any questions along those lines, please consult with your organization's Slack administrator.
Once you've authenticated (see below), you can follow the remaining instructions in this article to track your time with the ClickTime Slack integration.

You can now start using the integration. To see a full list of commands, type “/ct help”:
NOTE: If you do not have permission to install Apps into your workspace, you will want to send a request to your Workspace Administrator to install the app.
Authenticate Your ClickTime Account
If the Slack App has been installed in your Workspace, but you have not authenticated yet, you will need to connect your Slack account with your ClickTime account. To do so, navigate to the Apps section of your Slack Workspace and click on ClickTime
or type “/ct help” in any Slack channel to receive a message from the ClickTime app.
The message has a link to authenticate your account. Click the link and accept the app permission/scope. Then enter your ClickTime email address and password and click “Connect”:
Once you see the success message, your Slack account is integrated with ClickTime!
Back Slack Workspace, you will see a message from ClickTime with a list of slash commands.
You can now use the integration to track your time and view your weekly summary. These steps are explained in more detail here.
Eligibility and Caveats for the ClickTime Slack Integration
Certain ClickTime customers are not compatible to use the Slack integration. These accounts are not supported:
- DCAA Companies
- Companies with Sub-jobs
- Users who have not yet consented to GDPR
- Custom SSO Required accounts (Google SSO is supported)
Please also note that the ability to log Time Off hours is not supported with our integration. Currently the Slack integration has been designed to track worked time - Time Off can still be logged through the web or Mobile Application (for applicable accounts): see here and here .
