Bulk Actions in the Resource Management (RM) Grid allow administrators to quickly copy or clear an entire month’s budgets and allocations. This feature streamlines planning and resets, especially across large teams and projects.
Note: Only administrators have access to Bulk Actions.
Accessing Bulk Actions
- Go to Company → Resource Management → Resource Grid.
- Select the month you want to update using the Month Selector at the top of the grid.
- In the top-right corner, click Bulk Actions.
- Choose Copy Month or Clear Month.
Copy Month
Copies budgets and/or allocations from the previous month into the selected month.
Example: If you select Copy Month in August, data is copied from July → August.
Options
- Budgets
- Copy for all projects.
- Copy only for projects in your current view.
- Allocations
- Copy for all people and projects.
- Copy only for people/projects in your current view.
Important Notes
- Copying overwrites existing data in the target month.
- If you are working in a custom (unsaved) view, save the view first to ensure all selected people and projects copy correctly.
Clear Month
Removes all budget and/or allocation data from the selected month.
Example: If you select Clear Month in August, all budgets and allocations for August are removed.
Options
- Budgets
- Clear for all projects.
- Clear only for projects in your current view.
- Allocations
- Clear for all people and projects.
- Clear only for people/projects in your current view.
Important Notes
- Clearing is permanent. Data cannot be restored once removed.
Best Practices
- Use Copy Month for recurring schedules (e.g., repeating allocations month-to-month).
- Always review copied data for exceptions or project changes.
- Use Clear Month before re-forecasting to prevent conflicts with old data.
- Save views before using Bulk Actions to preserve filters and selections.
Summary
Bulk Actions make it simple to manage recurring or outdated data across months in Resource Management. Use Copy Month to replicate plans quickly, and Clear Month to reset. Always confirm your scope (all projects/people vs. current view) and remember these actions overwrite or remove data permanently.
