The ClickTime stopwatch feature enables employees to easily track their work hours on a project by starting a stopwatch from their Day View page. If an employee has an active or abandoned stopwatch, they will see an alert that says:
Jump to:
- Managing an Individual Stopwatch
- Bulk Deleting Abandoned Stopwatches (Admins Only)
- Deleting Entries
- Summary
"You have a running stopwatch."
Clicking this alert reveals more details about the active stopwatch and includes a link to manage it.
Managing an Individual Stopwatch
When the alert is clicked, the employee is taken to the time entry page with the abandoned stopwatch. From there, they can:
- Stop the stopwatch, which creates an end time.
- Delete the time entry entirely if it is not needed.
Bulk Deleting Abandoned Stopwatches (Admins Only)
If you are an Admin and need to remove multiple abandoned stopwatches, you can use the Bulk Changes tool. This feature allows you to automatically delete several abandoned stopwatch entries at once.
- Navigate to Company → Advanced.
- Under Bulk Changes, click Delete Abandoned Stopwatches.
You will then see a list of all abandoned stopwatches in your account.
Deleting Entries
From the abandoned stopwatch list, you can:
- Select the checkbox next to each stopwatch you’d like to delete.
- Click Delete Stopwatch.
ClickTime will display a message confirming that this action cannot be undone, and you will have the option to Cancel or Delete.
Once confirmed, ClickTime will remove the selected stopwatches and provide a completion message.
Summary
The stopwatch feature makes it easy for employees to track their time, but abandoned stopwatches can accumulate. Employees can manage their own stopwatches directly, while Admins have the option to bulk delete them using the Bulk Changes tool. Always review the entries you select for deletion, as this action is permanent.
