Sometimes you may need to update a timesheet after entering or submitting your time. In this guide, you’ll learn how to find a timesheet, make changes, and resubmit it if corrections are needed.
Before You Begin
Before editing or fixing a timesheet, make sure:
- You’re logged in to ClickTime.
- You know which week or day needs to be updated.
- Your timesheet is available to edit.
- If your timesheet was rejected, review any comments from your manager or approver before making changes.
Some timesheets may be locked or unavailable for editing depending on your organization’s settings or approval workflow.
Step 1: Open Your Timesheet
From your ClickTime account, open either Week View or Day View to access your timesheet.
If you have manager or administrator permissions, these options are typically available under the Personal area of the navigation menu.
Step 2: Review Any Requested Changes
If your timesheet was rejected, ClickTime may show a message on your timesheet letting you know that corrections are needed.
Review the message and any available comments so you know what needs to be updated.
Depending on your organization’s settings, you may also receive an email notification if your timesheet is rejected or requires updates.
Step 3: Update Your Time Entry
Find the time entry that needs to be changed, then update the details as needed.
You may need to update:
- Hours or start and end times
- Client, project, or task
- Notes or comments
- Required fields or custom fields
ClickTime saves your changes as you work. You can also click Save to make sure your updates are recorded.
Step 4: Resubmit Your Timesheet
If your timesheet was rejected, submit it again after making the requested changes.
Click Submit for Approval, then confirm your submission if prompted.
What Happens Next?
After you update or resubmit your timesheet:
- Your changes are saved in ClickTime.
- If you resubmitted the timesheet, it is sent back to your manager or approver for review.
- Your approver may approve the timesheet or request additional changes.
