Accurate time entry is the backbone of payroll, billing, and operational insight. These Time Entry reports help you verify what was logged, spot gaps quickly, and summarize hours by person, client, project, task, and period.
Where to find these reports
Go to Company → Reports. Time-entry reports appear across the pre-built list (commonly under People, Client, and Project). Open a report, set your date range and filters, then run it.

Filters & scope
- Date range — Use exact pay-period dates for consistent comparisons.
- Status — Be consistent about including Open, Waiting for Approval, and/or Approved/Locked time depending on your purpose.
- People & Divisions — Managers see only what they are permissioned for; Admins see all.
- Projects/Clients/Tasks — Narrow to the work you need to analyze to avoid mixed totals.
Troubleshooting
- Report looks empty — Check Date Range, Status, and People/Division filters. Make sure you’re not excluding the selected client/project/task.
- Someone / project / task missing — You may be out of scope (Divisions or permissions), the item is inactive in the selected period, or filters exclude it (e.g., Status or Date Range). Adjust scope and filters, then rerun.
-
Totals don’t match another report — Common causes include:
- Different Status filters (one includes Open, the other doesn’t).
- Mismatched Date Range (pay-period edges, timezone differences).
- Different grouping/roll-ups (person vs. project) or inclusion of Notes/Start-End/Break.
- Inactive items hidden in one view but not another.
Align filters, date range, and grouping, then compare again. If totals still diverge, contact Support with the report names, screenshots of filters, and the date ranges you used.
